Videos from India

Standing in front of the Taj Mahal and panning across (rather short video):

Karni Mata (The "Rat Temple"). You can hear the rats squeaking...:

Wedding Procession in Bundi - bringing the groom to his bride. We were there during "wedding season" and saw weddings every day. Turn on your speakers for this one...:

Our last auto-rickshaw ride in Delhi. Not our wildest ride, but it gives you a small idea of the road from Connaught Place to Karol Bagh (video is about 1 minute long):

  • Your brother just left. "Buhot Merabani" for my beautiful shirts. (and the home delivery) I love them both, especially the blue one. They both fit perfectly, and you may have neither of them back. (even the one with the pink in it - thought I wouldn't notice, eh?)

  • love your video's! I am trying to picture Max,Luna and Jane's reaction to the rat temple.I am thinking that Max is just too dignified and would ignore them, Luna would hiss and try to hide by climbing up the walls, and Jane would claim them as her kittens and try to round them up and bath them. love all your pictures!!

  • meron got her clothes (as you can see from the first reply) and I got my sandals

I personally would enjoy driving there by the look of it - my kind of place

    today is:

    a) valentines day
    b) a snow day
    c) national 'stay inside and eat chocolate and play videogames and surf the web" day
    d) all of the above

if you chose 'd' - you are indeed wise and beautiful

  • Driving in India is quite amazing. I rode a scooter there and it was like playing a video game. As one of our friends on the tour said, "There are no amusement parks in India - they don't need them!"

  • Hi Ms. Parker!

How are you doing? This is Jiji here... You know, one of your old students... I miss you so much!!

Édith told me last year, around my birthday, that you were just about to leave Montréal and I couldn't contact you. From then to now, I kinda lost your email, so I couldn't contact you either. But my mom gave me the address of your blog (I still wonder how she found that, though) in December... I was on a roadtrip all around Canada back then, so I didn't take the time to explore it. And then I spent the whole month of January to read all the posts to learn what went by and everything. I didn't want to write you before I knew everything about that.

Wow, Virginia, you have gone through a lot!! You're so lucky to do all that travel! I admire you so much and I will keep updated on your adventure. Sometimes, when you were speaking about your students up there, I couldn't stop thinking about CSA and your fun classes... You really helped us a lot. And I'm sure that's why I'm becoming what I am now...

Anyways, I put a link to your blog on mine, so I'll visit you often. To give you a brief overview of what I am doing right now, I finished my second year of my Bachelor degree in Translation (English to French) at Concordia University, in Montréal. Still one year to go, plus two 4-month internships. I am also currently on an internship, in Ottawa. I'm at the Translation Bureau, translating for the Parliamentary Committees. It's really awesome! I hope I'll be able to come back here after I graduate. Can't wait.

Anyways, that's pretty much it, basically... Gimme news and write me (dupont.jj@gmail.com) if you have some time...

  • Hi Its MOM Now that is a heart warming post & you should be proud of your teaching skills. We'll have to connect Meahgan & Jiji, since both will be in Ottawa.

Off to BC on Monday so busy packing & cleaning the house for the cat sitter because I have Max's cat hair all over everything. Of course my fluffy cat doesn't shed a bit. Hehee

Just bought a lovely scarve at Sears & when I brought it home I noticed that it was made in Korea.

Love MOM, no I don't need the address of the nose piercing place or the tatoo parlour.

  • Jean-Julien!

    Thank you so much!

I have the best memories of CSA and you - I will certainly send you an e-mail to find out more about what you are up to.

And congratulations on working in Ottawa! That is an excellent placement.

Great to hear from you again,

    V.
