And sometimes magic happens....

In class this afternoon, the students were drawing posters that were so amazingly beautiful that it was hard to believe that level of creativity could exist in a bunch of school kids. One of the boys started beat-boxing, and suddenly, we were all singing "Dancing Queen". Then, they cleaned up the whole classroom and worked together to hang their poster up.

It reminded me of teaching in La Pocatiere, when I actually felt like I could have silly crazy fun with my kids AND get some sort of learning experience out of it.

  • Hi Its MOM I like your 'Dear MOM" letter from camp. Unfortunatley I can't always get into the section which allows me to leave a comment but finally did today.

I've been watching the TV about Hurricane Dean since it hit just below Cancun. I'll be there within a week on the cruise but I'm more concerned for all the poor folks in Belize since they were only 40 miles from the eye with 18 ft storm surge & Belize City is just 3 inches above sea level. I'm sure they will be under repairs for a while. Hope to get to Belize this winter to do some volunteer work for the dentists.

All packed for my trip, having fun getting summer things on sale, got a long white slim linen lined skirt for $5.99 today. We must still go on these trips to pour dollars into the economy of Mexico & Belize so they can build up their toursim.

    Love MOM

  • I'm going to build up the tourism of Taiwan - and prop up their economy too... will pay for tickets on Monday, when I am finally back to Mokpo and not doing much of anything else.

  • Hi Its MOM I'm nosy- what did Madeleine say?

    Love MOM

  • Madeleine told me to print off this post or take pictures and hang them above my desk. It brings comfort on more difficult days.

Then she asked me if I got her latest postcard... so I should send her a quick e-mail and tell her that I did and I can't wait to make a potato pie or whatever.

    xoxo

  • Forget about making posters in La Pocatiere... Mr Raymond has just painted 306 and won't allow any tape or blue gum on the walls... There is then no point on having the students make posters if they can't put them up. Snif, snif.

  • They finally painted 306? If I taught there 8 or 9 years ago, I can just imagine what state the walls were in!

  • Yéééé! I was one of these silly students!
And we were singing «Five golden rings» 'til Luc Pomerleau's head was about to explode
